Truffles Torte

Did anyone wonder if I had forgotten how to find my site? Ha! It has actually been so long, I forgot how to navigate this thing. And just when I was getting the hang of it, too. Well, I may have put off baking for way too long, but today I told myself to hop to it and ended up with a pretty decent dessert. Torte. Truffles Torte. (James Bond, anyone?)

Maida called for very fine ground pecans as the base, but I decided to leave them finely chopped instead. I love the extra bit of crunch it adds. The recipe only has 3 tablespoons of flour, so it has an almost flourless consistency. I got a thumbs up from my family except for one part. The truffles. They are dusted in cocoa, they are creamy and they are delicious (to me at least). My husband is not a fan of almond extract, as he says it tastes like fake cherries. I told him it can’t taste fake, it’s natural and organic! Well, that didn’t alter his opinion one bit. Aside from that, I think that any way you slice it, this torte is pretty tasty.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year’s! Maybe baking more than one recipe per month should have been on my resolution’s list. It’s only the 6th, so I’m probably still within the window to make changes. Ha!

Thank you! Yes, I will pass the recipe along. It wasn’t the easiest, but it’s still a keeper. I guess you can’t really go wrong with chocolate and pecans, right?!
