I can’t help but feel I let Maida down with these. Are they terrible? No. My husband and kids actually like them quite a lot. I just know they’re not Maida’s gooiest, chewiest, mostest-of-the most I was hoping to duplicate. I know it’s me, I just don’t know where I went wrong. Was it not adding the extra 1 3/4 cup maple syrup? Could it possibly be because I baked them a tad long? Why are they more cakey than chewy? They may not be perfect, but I sure had fun making them and I’ve got 200+ more recipes to look forward to. Oh boy! If you want to give these a go, hopefully with better results, please let me know and I will send you the recipe.
